COVID-19 UPDATE

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)

We are deeply respectful and caring of our audience and understand the weight of responsibility when it comes to your well-being. We also take seriously our commitment to presenting early music to the highest possible standard, so every time you step inside the theatre you can expect nothing less than a truly remarkable Pinchgut experience. The ongoing logistical impacts resulting from COVID-19 make it impossible for us to guarantee your health and our artistic excellence. As a result, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the following performances:

We plan to program these works into forthcoming seasons and will let you know more, as soon as we can.

If you hold tickets to any of these cancelled performances, you will shortly receive a separate email outlining the options for your tickets. This will be sent to the email address you used to purchase your tickets.

Following the Public Health Order from the NSW Government which has banned all public events of over 500 people until the end of June, the following Pinchgut Performances are now cancelled:

We are planning to reschedule these performances at a later date and are still working on confirming details. Current ticket holders will be contacted via e-mail.

As you are aware, Pinchgut Opera is a Not For Profit organisation and 60% of our annual income is derived directly from ticket sales. The impact of coronavirus will be global and felt across all industries and in particular by the live performance industry. We rely on our ticket sales and the generosity of our supporters to be able to pay over 200 artists and arts workers each year. The ban on public events is going to be a challenge as we adjust plans to get through the year. We are working on creative ways to maintain engagement between our audiences and artists who work with us. These next few months all performing arts companies will need the support of their communities the most. Please consider donating your purchased ticket to any company who is being forced to cancel performances.

We will continue to closely monitor any updates and inform you of new developments.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we work and perform, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation – the first storytellers and singers of songs.
We pay our respects to their elders past and present.
