Dancer

Allie Graham is an independent dance artist and performance maker based in Sydney. Her artistic practice spans contemporary dance, physical theatre, opera, film and performance art.

Allie trained with Sydney Dance Company’s Pre Professional Year (2016) and Ev & Bow Full Time Dance Training Centre (2014–15). She has worked extensively in the realm of opera and physical theatre, touring as a solo dance artist with Opera Australia as The Milkmaid in the Australian premiere of Reimann’s Ghost Sonata.

Allie made her debut with Pinchgut Opera in 2020, in the opera film A Delicate Fire, directed by Constantine Costi. Most recently, she played Anna II in Red Line Productions’ double bill The Seven Deadly Sins and The Mahagonny Songspiel, directed by Constantine Costi. Earlier this year, Allie featured in the ensemble work Grey Rhino, choreographed by Cass Mortimer Eipper and Charmene Yap for the 2022 Sydney Festival.

In 2021, Allie appeared in Davide Livermore’s production of Aida (Opera Australia) performing at the Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre Melbourne. She has worked extensively with Israeli choreographer Omer Backley-Astrachan, performing at the Maholohet Dance Festival Tel Aviv, mentored by Idan Cohen, Melanie Burson and Kay Armstrong.

In 2018, Allie joined Catapult Dance Company under the direction of Cadi McCarthy and has
been engaged by award-winning international artists Lee Brummer (ilDance) and Rachel Erdos in multidisciplinary works locally and overseas. She has been in close collaboration with acclaimed directors, composers, musicians and choreographers including Sydney Dance Company, Martin Del Amo, Sue Healey, Sydney Symphony Strings, Sydney Experimental Arts Ensemble, Juliet Burnett, Lee Mathews, Fiona Hill and Caetlyn Watson.
