Sabina is a set and costume designer for stage and screen. Originally from Brisbane, where she studied art history at the University of Queensland, she is now Sydney-based and graduated from NIDA in 2017 with an MFA in Design.
Sabina’s recent designs for stage include: WERTHER (Opera Australia – costume consultant, dir. Constantine Costi), 48th UAE NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION (Betty Productions – set design associate, for designer Michael Scott-Mitchell, whom she has also assisted on previous productions including MADAME BUTTERFLY for Opera Australia). She is currently working on costume designs for Britten’s A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (NIDA/Sydney Conservatorium of Music, dir. Kate Gaul), and Cesti’s ORONTEA for Pinchgut Opera (dir. Constantine Costi).
Her work for screen includes: FINDING JEDDA (Orange Entertainment – costume designer, dir. Tanith Glynn-Maloney), FITTING (Cosmia Productions – production designer, dir. Emily Avila), THREE-THOUSAND YEARS OF LONGING (Kennedy Miller Mitchell – costume design assistant, for designer Kym Barrett), SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS (Marvel Studios – costume design assistant, for designer Kym Barrett).
Sabina is also a tutor and mentor for NIDA’s design programme, specialising in costume and illustration.
