Pinchgut Opera has four price types for performances. They are as follows:
STANDARD
The full price of a Pinchgut Opera ticket. Available within price reserves ranging from Premium to E reserve.
PENSIONER CONCESSION
Discounted tickets for Veterans’ Affairs pensioners and Centrelink-issued Pension, and Health Care Card holders. Seniors cards are not eligible for concession prices. Proof of eligibility must be shown to Pinchgut Opera Ticketing before tickets are issued via email ticketing@pinchgutopera.com.au. Available for all tickets excluding Premium.
UNDER 35s
Pinchgut Opera offers discounted tickets for those Under 35s at performance date. Valid proof of age must be shown before tickets are issued.
COMPANION CARDS
The NSW Companion Card program is for people with significant and permanent disability who need a high level of care in the community. The Companion Card allows a cardholder's support person free entry into participating venues and events.
Pinchgut Opera offers a complimentary ticket for companion card holders. Proof of eligibility must be presented when requested by Pinchgut Opera ticketing.
A lock out period applies for Pinchgut Opera performances. Therefore we recommend you allow plenty of time to arrive at the venue to avoid disappointment.
Pinchgut Opera is a not-for-profit registered charity that relies on ticket sales and philanthropy as our primary sources of revenue. The cost of operating our own ticketing requires significant investment in personnel and infrastructure.
To offset these costs, Pinchgut Opera charges a once per order booking fee of $7.10 for all ticket orders regardless of the number of tickets being purchased. We charge a booking fee instead of further increasing our ticket prices. Donations do not attract a booking fee.
The fee for exchanging your ticket is $8 per ticket and the postage delivery of tickets is $10 per transaction.
Sightlines vary between operas because the set design for Pinchgut Opera productions is different for every opera and performers do frequently use auditorium doors as part of the performances. Sitting centrally in the stalls and back of Level 2 and Level 3 will ensure the most consistent view of the full performing area. The boxes on the sides of Level 2 and 3 do occasionally miss out on some sections of the performance due to set design, location of some of the performance or structural elements of the City Recital Hall.
For Subscribers
For subscribers, ticket exchanges are available only up to 72 hours prior to your performance. After this point, tickets cannot be exchanged. Tickets can only be exchanged for other performances within the same calendar year of the initial purchased ticket.
Subscribers can access exchanges free of charge, up to 72 hours before the performance.
For Individual ticket holders
Individual tickets (non-subscriber tickets) can be exchanged for a fee of $8 per ticket (and no additional booking fee), up to 5 business days before the first performance of the production. After this point, exchanges on individual tickets will not be processed.
If the value of the new seat is higher than the original, the additional amount must be paid by the customer. If the value of the new ticket is lower, the excess will be added to the order as a tax-deductible donation to Pinchgut Opera.
You can exchange your tickets by contacting Pinchgut Opera Ticketing by email ticketing@pinchgutopera.com.au or phone 02 9037 3444.
Can I receive a refund for my ticket if I am unwell or cannot attend?
We do not refund tickets due to delays or cancellation of public transport.
Pinchgut Opera does not offer refunds unless under extreme circumstances, in line with the Live Performance Australia Code of Practice for Ticketing of Live Entertainment Australia
