In 2022 Pinchgut Opera undertook some exciting activities outside of our regular subscription season.

Making our debut in the first of two festivals, Erin Helyard curated a stunning program for The Adelaide Festival at Ukaria. Then, teaming up with director and long-time collaborator and friend, Lindy Hume, Pinchgut Opera performed in the stunning natural surrounds of the NSW Sapphire Coast at the Four Winds Festival in Barragga Bay.

2022 also saw Pinchgut travel to Tasmania for a special performance for Musica Viva.

Thanks to support from Create NSW, we also embarked on our first ever regional tour, visiting Armidale and Newcastle.

Pinchgut Opera's Artistic Director Erin Helyard has curated a concert series titled Resonance, exploring music from the 16th to the 21st centuries for this year's Adelaide Festival.

For Erin, Resonance represents "the delicate influences that echo between musicians, amongst cultures, and across generations"

THE FOUR WINDS FESTIVAL

“A feast of cultural experiences in the heart of the South Coast,” The Four Winds Festival is an incredible mix of music and culture nestled deep in the bush.

Pinchgut Opera is presenting two works in the stunning outdoor setting and centre piece of the Festival, the Sound Shell; Handel’s mini-opera, Acis and Galatea on Saturday and on Sunday a concert, The Spiritual Forest by Monteverdi.
